The School

For nearly 40 years, St. George’s School has been dedicated to serving the international community in Cologne, offering a rich educational experience combined with a family-focused environment. What began as a small school has evolved into a vibrant community of around 800 students, aged 2-18, representing over 50 different nationalities.

Our curriculum adheres to the National Curriculum, and we provide the IB Diploma in our Sixth Form.

As part of a network of three schools throughout Germany, St. George’s presents an exciting array of professional development and growth opportunities for the successful candidate across the school group.

The Location

Our school is situated on a newly constructed campus on the outskirts of Cologne, benefiting from excellent transport connections to the city center and the broader Cologne-Bonn area.

Cologne, Germany’s fourth-largest city, is a lively cultural hub with a diverse international population. Positioned in the heart of Europe, it boasts a high quality of life along with ample travel and cultural exploration opportunities.

Cologne-Bonn Airport is just 20km away, offering numerous daily flights to the UK, while a high-speed rail service links Cologne to London via Brussels.

The Role

We are in search of an experienced professional to oversee the strategic coordination of inclusive, exemplary SEND & EAL services within the Primary School, specifically in the Early Years and Lower Primary sections.

This position is responsible for ensuring that students gain social, emotional, and academic benefits from SEND & EAL services through high-quality teaching practices, effective identification, assessment, and monitoring, as well as maintaining close partnerships with external organizations.

As the Head of Primary Learning Support, you will collaborate and facilitate the professional development of staff regarding SEND, EAL, and Inclusion, while also enhancing your own expertise in these areas.
