JOB DESCRIPTION

The IT Operations & Support Analyst serves as a key member of our IT department, focused on providing effective and timely frontline support to the campus community while driving enhancements in operations. As a proud Google School, we utilize the full capabilities of Google Workspace for Education to enrich learning and collaboration. This position blends technical troubleshooting with the goal of maintaining a stable, secure, and innovative school environment.

Employment Type: Full-time, permanent. This position is office-based on campus at 1975 Renfrew Road, Shawnigan Lake.

Position Start Date: The preferred start date is May 2026, although earlier or later dates may be accommodated.

Compensation: The annual salary range is between $70,000 and $80,000. The starting salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s expertise, experience, and internal equity.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Operations and Support Analyst will be responsible for:

Service Delivery & Technical Resolution

• Act as the main point of contact for technical support, ensuring that all requests are documented, prioritized, and resolved efficiently.

• Provide extensive technical assistance across a variety of information systems, including workstations, mobile devices, and enterprise applications, minimizing downtime for both students and staff.

• Troubleshoot and resolve intricate technical problems related to hardware, software, and network connections, escalating significant architectural issues to senior staff when required.

Operational & Infrastructure Management

• Collaborate with other IT team members to uphold the integrity of the school’s IT infrastructure by supporting server architectures, networking systems, and security protocols (VPNs, firewalls).

• Manage the deployment and upkeep of hardware and software assets, ensuring smooth integration with existing network structures.

• Implement change management best practices for system updates and configuration changes to reduce risk and ensure continuity for users.

Project Management & Strategic Initiatives

• Carry out special projects and intricate technical tasks as directed by the Information Technology Manager, adjusting to changing priorities and deadlines.

• Oversee and assist with system implementations and upgrades, managing resources and timelines to ensure successful completion.

• Use data visualization tools to assess helpdesk performance and system usage trends, offering actionable insights to enhance departmental efficiency.

• Actively seek out opportunities to improve IT operations and user experiences through innovative technological solutions.

REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

• A degree or diploma in a technical-related field (IT preferred);

• Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a technical support position;

• Preference will be given to candidates with Google IT support certifications;

• Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification is considered advantageous;

• Strong proficiency in Google ChromeOS, Google Workspaces, Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, and PC hardware. Excellent understanding of networking, servers, and web application principles;

• Experience in creating dashboards and reports to display technical data.

• Proven ability to manage technical projects and navigate organizational change.

Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders;

• A high level of resourcefulness and adaptability, with the capacity to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
