Role Overview:
Downe House Muscat is looking for an exceptional Teacher of Business Studies and Economics to join our team. This educator will be responsible for teaching Business Studies and Economics from Grade 9, as well as participating in a broad extracurricular program. Responsibilities will include teaching IGCSE classes, A Level, and the Omani GED diploma, ensuring that all students make significant progress and experience learning as enjoyable and challenging.

As Downe House Muscat develops its creative curriculum, a background in various artistic styles is necessary, and the successful candidate must be adaptable and confident in teaching across multiple specialisms.

This role encompasses teaching IGCSE, A Level, and the Omani GED. Prior experience with the GED is not required, as comprehensive training will be provided.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Business Studies or Economics from a reputable university. (E)
• Post Graduate Certificate of Education (or equivalent). (E)
• Qualified Teacher Status. (E)
• Evidence of further postgraduate study. (D)

Skills & Experience:
• A successful track record of delivering high-quality Business Studies and Economics instruction as a qualified teacher for a minimum of three years. (E)
• Familiarity with the Cambridge Lower Secondary International Curriculum relevant to your subject. (D)
• Experience teaching IGCSE and/or International A Levels. (E)
• Background in a UK independent or international school setting. (D)
• Experience teaching students with English as an Additional Language. (D)
• Involvement in curriculum development for Business Studies or Economics. (E)
