Tessa International School is an expanding, high-quality bilingual institution in Hoboken, New Jersey, conveniently one stop away from Manhattan. We provide three language immersion tracks—Spanish, French, and Mandarin—and are accredited by the International Baccalaureate (IB) and the French Ministry of Education. Additionally, we hold recognition as a NAIS model school.

We are looking for enthusiastic, reflective, and committed Early Childhood educators to join our team and support the growth of our youngest learners academically, socially, and emotionally within a bilingual, inquiry-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities


The Early Childhood English Reinforcement Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year will play a crucial role in advancing our bilingual mission by:


Upholding the principles and high standards of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP)


Facilitating children’s language development through enriching, play-based experiences that enhance comprehension, expression, and confidence in English


Creating engaging learning experiences that encourage early literacy development through inquiry, storytelling, play, and meaningful interaction


Intentionally broadening children’s vocabulary, oral language, and emerging literacy skills in developmentally suitable ways


Demonstrating expressive, authentic English via conversations, songs, stories, and guided interactions throughout the school day


Supporting young children’s social-emotional growth while promoting curiosity, independence, and a love for language


Fostering warm, respectful connections with children and collaborating closely with immersion-track teachers to ensure seamless learning experiences across languages


Observing and documenting children’s language development to inform adaptive teaching strategies

Required:


Fluency in both spoken and written English, with the capability to model rich and expressive language for young learners.


A minimum of 3 years of experience in Early Childhood education (ages 2–6 preferred).


A solid understanding of early literacy development, including oral language progression, phonological awareness, and emergent reading and writing within play-based settings.


A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a relevant field


Authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred:


State or equivalent national teaching certification


Direct experience teaching in, or strong familiarity with, the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP)

Starting salary of $55,000
