The Opportunity

We are looking for an exceptional and inspiring Prep Teacher to become a part of the founding academic team at Queen Elizabeth’s School, Gurugram.

The Role

Job Title: Prep Teacher

Reporting to: Head of Prep School

Teaching and Learning Excellence


Deliver engaging, imaginative, and intellectually challenging lessons aligned with the National Curriculum for England while fully complying with local requirements.


Purposefully integrate locally mandated subjects with quality and cultural sensitivity.


Champion personalized learning by adapting instruction to cater to the individual needs, interests, and learning profiles of all students, ensuring every learner is adequately challenged and supported.


Incorporate purposeful use of educational technology to enhance instruction, inspire creativity, and develop digital fluency in line with the school’s innovation goals.


Utilize both formative and summative assessment strategies to track progress, refine instruction, and ensure students meet and exceed age-related expectations.


Adjust teaching methods to ensure inclusive access for students of varying abilities, including those needing learning support or enrichment.

Student Wellbeing, Safeguarding, and Development


Cultivate a classroom environment founded on respect, empathy, and high expectations, where every student feels secure, valued, and understood.


Support students’ holistic growth by fostering their emotional wellbeing, resilience, social skills, and character alongside their academic achievements.


Exemplify professionalism, emotional intelligence, and ethical behavior, serving as a daily model for students.


Maintain the highest safeguarding and child protection standards, ensuring all responsibilities are fulfilled in accordance with school policies, local requirements, and international best practices.

Parent and Community Partnership


Engage in open, proactive communication with parents to build robust partnerships and support each child's educational journey.


Provide insights on progress, behavior, and achievements through regular updates, parent meetings, and formal reporting.


Fully participate in parent-facing events, including conferences, workshops, and celebration days, to create a welcoming and engaged school community.


Approach all family interactions with cultural sensitivity, ensuring communication is respectful, inclusive, and considerate of diverse backgrounds.

Professional Development & Collaboration


Actively engage in your own professional development, participating in school-led training and external opportunities to remain at the forefront of excellent pedagogy.


Share best practices and collaborate with colleagues to refine teaching approaches, co-plan, and enhance educational experiences across the school.


Contribute to staff meetings, planning teams, and teaching and learning communities, showcasing leadership in thought and practice.

Curriculum Enrichment and Innovation


Assist in the continuous development and contextualization of the school’s curriculum, ensuring it is broad, deep, and relevant to both international and regional contexts.


Create interdisciplinary projects and inquiry-based experiences that encourage critical thinking, global awareness, and cross-curricular connections.


Ensure cultural responsiveness is integrated into all planning and delivery, celebrating diversity and reflecting the values of the school’s global community.

Whole School Contribution


Lead or support high-quality extracurricular activities, including clubs, competitions, and enrichment opportunities that enhance the student experience.


Take an active part in school-wide initiatives and events, including assemblies, theme weeks, festivals, and performances.


Adhere to all school policies, including those regarding safeguarding, health and safety, and inclusion, maintaining the highest levels of professionalism at all times.

The Person

Qualifications and Experience


Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field.


A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).


At least 2-3 years of teaching experience, ideally within a Cambridge International Curriculum school.


Demonstrated experience in differentiating instruction and supporting students with diverse learning requirements.


Familiarity with local education regulations and standards is a plus.
