Founded in September 2016, NACIS Shanghai is a day and boarding school focused on delivering a creative, challenging, and enriching educational journey. We welcome students between the ages of 6 to 18 into our forward-thinking, internationally-focused community. Our distinctive bilingual, blended learning curriculum culminates in both the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and A-level Programme. Located in the Minhang District of Shanghai, our school features top-notch facilities that support our innovative teaching methodologies. NACIS Shanghai is excited to recruit a Primary Class Teacher to contribute to the advancement of teaching and learning in our Primary School.

You will enhance our students' educational experiences through a variety of initiatives, such as the Global Campus, Nord Anglia University, and collaborations with esteemed organizations like The Juilliard School, MIT, UNICEF, IMG, and King’s College London.

THE SCHOOL

Since its establishment in September 2016, NACIS Shanghai has been committed to providing a creative, challenging, and fulfilling educational atmosphere. Our progressive and globally aware community serves students aged 6 to 18. We offer a distinctive bilingual, blended learning program that leads to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. With our location in the Minhang District, we provide world-class facilities that are designed to enhance our innovative educational practices.

Our faculty is composed of experienced professionals from 10 different countries, with significant representation from China, the UK, Ireland, and North America.

THE ROLE:

We are looking for a Primary Class Teacher whose responsibilities will encompass:

  • Teaching Guided Reading, Phonics, English, Thematic Learning, Visual Arts, and Extended Maths to Grade 1 or 2 students while also acting as the Homeroom Teacher for that class.
  • Alternatively, instructing several Grade 3 to 5 classes in English and Guided Reading, while the national teacher takes on the Homeroom Teacher responsibilities.
  • Showcasing thorough knowledge of the curriculum.
  • Ensuring that planning, preparation, teaching, recording, assessment, and reporting are in line with the needs of students and the expectations of the school.
  • Setting high standards for our students by creating learning activities aligned with our Primary curriculum, nurturing a culture of boundless achievement.
  • Developing a respectful classroom atmosphere that promotes learning through inquiry and discussion.
  • Actively engaging in the broader development and advancement of the school.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Qualified Teacher status and at least three to four years of teaching experience in Primary education, preferably with two years in a UK school.
  • A thorough understanding of effective teaching and learning theories and practices that address the individual needs of all children through effective classroom organization, differentiation, and learning strategies.
  • A PGCE/QTS or a nationally recognized teaching license.
  • A degree in English Language and Literature is preferred.
  • A collaborative mindset and adaptability.

Your effective communication skills will enable you to engage with diverse audiences and situations, building strong relationships with parents and students. Your ability to swiftly adapt to our dynamic international setting, alongside fulfilling visa-related requirements for China—including a bachelor’s degree, a clean criminal record, and health checks—will be essential.
