SEN Base Provision Teacher (Bank View School)
About This Role
SEN Base Provision Teacher – Bank View School, Fazakerley and Speke
Bank View School is a specialized institution catering to students with a variety of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, and complex learning challenges. Our school operates across three locations in Liverpool: Fazakerley, Croxteth, and Speke. We are excited to invite applications for passionate and motivated SEN Base Provision Teachers to join our committed and innovative team. Opportunities include permanent and maternity cover positions at the Fazakerley site, as well as permanent roles at the Speke site. Currently, the Speke site serves 240 students, with plans to grow to 300 by September 2026, followed by further expansion over the next two academic years until reaching its full capacity for key stages 3 and 4.
We seek educators who are eager to pursue excellence and bring energy and a dedication to learning into the classroom. The ideal candidates will be dynamic, imaginative, and highly driven, possessing the capabilities to tailor the secondary national curriculum to suit our students' needs. A strong command of the subject matter and the ability to cultivate positive, supportive relationships with both pupils and colleagues are essential.
In September 2024, we received an “Outstanding” rating from OFSTED in all categories, with Bank View described as “an exceptional school where pupils achieve their dreams and ambitions.” We are also proud to possess the National Autistic Society’s charter mark, alongside several other notable quality accreditations, such as OPAL Platinum School status, the Gold Reading Quality Mark, and the Silver Rights Respecting Schools Award, with ongoing progress toward Gold, as well as the Rainbow Flag Award and Parent Partnership Award.
Our commitments include:
- Creating a safe and joyful learning environment that prioritizes mental health and well-being
- Collaborating as a community with a shared vision
- Offering an engaging and personalized curriculum that celebrates individual growth and achievements
- Promoting a positive mindset
- Maintaining high expectations tailored to each pupil's unique potential
- Embracing diversity and inclusion, ensuring that every individual is valued
Our school is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and we expect all staff and volunteers to uphold this commitment to ensuring child safety. Any job offer will be contingent upon satisfactory completion of statutory pre-employment checks, including references and Enhanced DBS and Barred List checks. This position is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (as amended in 2013 & 2020), and shortlisted candidates must disclose any relevant criminal history prior to the interview.
The amendments to the ROA 1974 (Exceptions Order 1975, amended in 2013 and 2020) state that for certain roles, specific spent convictions and cautions are ‘protected’ and do not need to be disclosed to employers, and if they are disclosed, employers cannot consider them. The MOJ’s guidance on the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the Exceptions Order 1975 provides information on which convictions must be declared during job applications, with further details on filtering offences available in the DBS filtering guide: DBS Filtering Guidance
