RAK Academy Al Hamra:
Located in the southern region of Ras Al Khaimah within the Al Hamra community, RAK Academy – Al Hamra is an evolving primary and lower secondary school that follows an adapted UK National Curriculum from Pre-K to Grade 8, along with UAE MOE subjects. Our new secondary school for Grades 6 to 8 is set to welcome its inaugural students in August 2026. We are accredited by the British Schools Overseas (BSO) and adhere to the standards established by leading international British institutions, allowing us to provide comprehensive ECT induction for our educators.
The Role (Founding Position):
RAK Academy – Al Hamra is seeking an enthusiastic, inspiring, and proactive founding Head of Arabic to lead the establishment of our new secondary Arabic department. This exceptional opportunity allows for significant influence over curriculum development, cultural identity, assessment strategies, and educational standards in a school launching in August 2026.
Essential Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Arabic or a related discipline.
- A Post Graduate Certificate in Education (or equivalent).
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- A solid understanding of teaching and learning methodologies.
- High proficiency in leveraging technology to enhance educational experiences.
- Ability to engage, motivate, and effectively support students.
- A reflective mindset with a capacity for innovative and creative thinking.
- A positive, enthusiastic approach and a growth-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to actively participate in extracurricular activities.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Experience teaching GCSE/IGCSE/A-Level courses (Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply).
Desirable Qualifications:
- National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership (NPQML).
- National Professional Qualification for Leading Teaching (NPQLT).
- Proven experience in improving student outcomes.
- Background in contributing to or leading curriculum development initiatives.
