Following a rise in student enrolment, we have new opportunities for Secondary teachers starting in August 2025. Currently, we are looking to fill the position of:
School Counsellor
Job Description:
The ideal candidate will engage with students from all age groups (2-18) as well as their families. At BSJ, our counselling approach primarily focuses on providing therapeutic one-to-one support to address the social-emotional needs of our students. We are in search of a responsive and adaptable professional with outstanding interpersonal skills, possessing current knowledge and updated training in the counselling field. Familiarity with the region is preferred but not mandatory.
The responsibilities of the successful candidate will include:
- Planning suitable interventions and keeping accurate case records for students;
- Referring clients to external professionals as necessary;
- Coordinating with the Child Protection Team when required;
- Collaborating with relevant school staff, including nursing staff, librarians, wellbeing tutors, class and subject teachers, as necessary;
- Participating in professional development courses as needed;
- Assisting in the facilitation and presentation of Parenting Workshops;
- Delivering timely assemblies and relevant workshops for the school community.
The successful applicant will be able to showcase:
- A proven history of outstanding counselling experience;
- Competence in providing counselling to the Secondary age group;
- A minimum of 5 years of work experience aligned with the qualifications for this position.
