HIGH SCHOOL MATHEMATICS TEACHER

The Mathematics Department at ABA consists of five full-time teachers in the High School, beginning instruction at MYP4 (Grade 9). Our department fosters a collaborative environment and is well-equipped with both digital and physical teaching resources. We provide courses at both Standard and Extended levels for Grades 9 and 10, and offer all four DP Mathematics courses in Grades 11 and 12.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Mathematics teacher who possesses experience and a current understanding of the IB Middle Years Programme (IBMYP) and the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP).

The successful candidate will be expected to engage actively in the life of the school, participating in after-school activities, coaching, and mentoring students.

Responsibilities

- Create an environment that fosters student progress and success
- Establish and maintain strong, positive relationships with each student and their families
- Assess student understanding and progress, providing constructive feedback
- Ensure the written curriculum aligns with the taught curriculum
- Collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders to optimally support our students
- Exemplify our school’s Mission, Vision, and Values
- Ensure school policies are effectively implemented in practice.

Experiences

The ideal candidate will:

- Have demonstrated experience as a qualified Mathematics teacher
- Understand both the MYP and DP, with specific experience in DP Higher Level Applications and Interpretation
- Show a commitment to personal and professional development
- Be familiar with the TI family of graphing calculators
- Effectively address the diverse needs of students through differentiation
- Collaborate successfully with colleagues to prioritize student learning
- Exhibit enthusiasm and passion for teaching and learning Mathematics.
