About This Role

Ignite Arts Academy is launching an innovative One Day Arts Integrated School (Years 7–10) based on the A+ model/philosophy and seeks a passionate, experienced arts-integrated specialist to join as a founding teacher in this exciting start-up initiative.


This is an opportunity to start in a part-time position (initially 1 day teaching per week) with potential to grow as enrolment increases. The successful applicant will play a key role in shaping a dynamic, arts-integrated programme from the ground up.


Key Responsibilities



  • Deliver engaging, arts-integrated learning

  • Create course design and assist with programme development

  • Collaborate within an established organised business whose culture allows for growth and flexibility


About You



  • NZ registered or qualified teacher

  • 5–10+ years’ teaching experience with a strong arts-integrated approach

  • Innovative, adaptable, and motivated by start-up initiatives

  • Strong communication, teamwork skills with a growth mindset


Additional Information



  • Travel required the week July 20 – 24, 2026 (Oklahoma A+ Summit Teacher Training)

  • As part of the recruitment process we require you to create a two hour arts integrated workshop for interested people to attend

  • Potential for expanded hours and future leadership responsibilities as the school grows

Remuneration


Salary will be based on qualifications and experience and is aligned with relevant teaching salary benchmarks. A salary range of $70,000 to $100,000 (full-time equivalent, pro-rated) will be considered. As a founding team member, there is potential for salary progression and leadership pathways as the programme develops.
