About This Role

The British International School of Tbilisi (BIST) is on the lookout for enthusiastic and dedicated professionals to join our vibrant independent school community. Currently, we cater to around 500 students aged 3 to 18 from more than 54 different nations. Our contemporary, purpose-built campus spans over 15,000 square meters and is nestled beside a picturesque natural lake on the hills that overlook the city. Our cutting-edge facilities are designed to foster innovative teaching and learning, aligning with the demands of the 21st Century. We offer a creative and adaptable curriculum that combines the English National Curriculum with the International Primary Curriculum, leading to Cambridge IGCSE and A Levels at Key Stages 4 & 5. BIST proudly holds Patron's Accreditation as a member of the Council of British International Schools (COBIS).

We have an open position at BIST due to the school's expansion, seeking a qualified Teacher of Computer Science and Computing with experience in teaching iGCSE and A Level or equivalent, starting in August 2026.

At BIST, both students and staff are dedicated to making a positive impact in the broader community through various programs. All teachers are expected to actively engage in our cross-curricular days and weeks, participate in our rich array of extracurricular activities, and contribute to the PSHE program. Secondary teachers will be required to instruct their subject up to A Level and prepare students for admission to prestigious universities worldwide.

Ideal candidates will have recent experience in the UK or internationally, be highly motivated and well-organized, and hold UK qualifications or equivalent internationally recognized credentials. Familiarity with the advantages and challenges of residing in a rapidly developing country will be beneficial.

BIST offers a dynamic and supportive work environment, with salaries and conditions that are competitive with other international schools in the region. Our net pay scales exceed those in the UK and are supplemented by relocation allowances to and from Georgia, an annual airfare allowance, a comprehensive health and wellness package, a housing allowance, and the enriching experience of living in a beautiful and culturally rich country. We are committed to the ongoing professional development of our staff, offering an annual CPD allowance. Successful candidates will become part of an enthusiastic and dedicated team in this highly regarded school.

Please submit a completed BIST application form along with a supporting letter by April 20, 2026. We encourage early applications, as initial interviews will commence before the deadline. Application forms and additional details can be requested at recruitment@bist.ge. Interviews will be conducted formally via Google Meet, with opportunities for informal discussions through Zoom or Skype beforehand.

The British International School of Tbilisi is committed to the safety of children and young people. All positions are subject to appropriate vetting processes, including checks with previous employers and a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check. Our safeguarding and safer recruitment policies are available to all prospective candidates.
