The IPC Lead Teacher role is a strategic, non-classroom-based position aimed at advancing our curriculum. This includes leading, training, collaborating with, and thoroughly supporting our staff in our pursuit of educational excellence.

RA International School:

RAIS is a large international primary school that incorporates a dedicated Learning Support Unit along with a team of specialized educators. Currently, the school serves 430 students aged 3 to 11 years, primarily the children of local and expatriate employees of Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG). We implement the English National Curriculum for English and Mathematics, in conjunction with the IPC. The school is located in a desirable residential area, accommodating both staff and families associated with the company.

We are in search of an IPC Lead Teacher who:

• Is a native-level English speaker

• Holds a B.Ed. or a BA/BSc with a PGCE in Primary Teaching and has Qualified Teacher Status

• Has significant experience teaching primary-aged children in an international setting

• Possesses a high level of proficiency in the IPC

• Understands what excellence entails and can strategically enhance our IPC provision

• Can lead by example through outstanding classroom practices, fostering high standards and expectations

• Is capable of establishing strong, constructive relationships with staff

• Is child-focused and deeply passionate about education

• Exhibits a positive, can-do attitude, along with creativity, resilience, and a sense of humor

In addition to being part of a supportive, learning-oriented, and forward-thinking school environment, you will enjoy an attractive benefits package, which includes:

• A highly competitive, tax-free salary

• Complimentary housing with no utility costs

• Assistance with relocation

• Free or subsidized school placements for dependent children

• A travel allowance

• Complimentary access to local recreational facilities

Contract terms

The successful candidate will initially receive a two-year contract, with the possibility of annual renewal thereafter.

Application

Our school prioritizes the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people, and we expect all staff and volunteers to uphold this commitment. Applicants will need to obtain an International Child Protection Certificate (ICPC) from ACRO, with further details available here, or provide a police check/clearance from their home or resident country.

Employment offers will be contingent upon fulfilling visa requirements and adhering to local regulations and laws. A final employment offer will depend on a satisfactory police check, medical examination, and visa approval.

To apply, please fill out the online application form via the TES portal. Include a comprehensive CV detailing your qualifications, work history, and the contact information of three referees. Additionally, submit a Personal Statement that highlights your suitability for the position.

Closing date: Friday, 8th May 2026 at 12.00 UK time.
