Position Overview
ULIS is on the lookout for a passionate and experienced IB Geography Teacher to join our Secondary School team. The ideal candidate will cultivate meaningful connections with students, embrace inquiry-based teaching methods, and be dedicated to providing high-quality international education within a vibrant, multicultural setting. This position involves teaching IB DP Geography and may also encompass additional Geography classes for Middle or High School, depending on the schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
•
Deliver engaging and high-quality Geography lessons utilizing inquiry-based, developmental, and constructivist strategies.
•
Design, create, and enhance Geography curriculum materials that incorporate global perspectives and adhere to IB standards. Employ a variety of teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities within our multicultural student body.

Seamlessly integrate technology into teaching practices to support ULIS's focus on technology-enhanced and personalized learning.
Assessment & Feedback
•
Evaluate student progress through a range of formative and summative assessment techniques that align with IB assessment criteria.
•
Provide prompt and constructive feedback to students and their families regarding academic growth.
Classroom Culture & Pastoral Care
•
Establish an inclusive, supportive, and secure classroom atmosphere that celebrates diversity and nurtures a passion for learning.
•
Adhere to ULIS’s strong commitment to child protection, safeguarding, and ethical practices.
Collaboration & Professional Growth
•
Work together with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and integrated educational experience across different subjects.
•
Engage in schoolwide initiatives, committees, and extracurricular activities.
•
Participate in continuous professional development to remain informed about IB standards and global best practices in Geography education.
Required Qualifications & Experience
•
A Bachelor’s degree in Geography or a closely related discipline.
•
A recognized teaching certification.
•
Demonstrable experience teaching Geography at the secondary level; experience with IB DP Geography is highly preferred.
•
Excellent interpersonal skills with the capacity to foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
•
Strong proficiency in English (the instructional language at ULIS).
•
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, contributing to curriculum development and providing intervention support for students.

Experience in international school environments is advantageous.
