Lumio Private School is seeking to fill a position for an IB MYP / DP Geography teacher.

Commencing in August 2026, you will become a part of a vibrant international school community, guiding students as they delve into global systems, human behavior, and the construction of knowledge across various disciplines. Your teaching will encourage learners to think critically, challenge assumptions, and view the world through multiple perspectives.

In this position, you will help cultivate international-mindedness, intercultural understanding, and ethical global citizenship, in alignment with the IB philosophy.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Geography, Humanities, Social Studies, or a related area.

• Experience teaching within the IB MYP and/or DP framework is essential.

• Familiarity with IB assessment practices, including MYP criteria-based assessments and DP Geography Internal Assessment requirements, is highly preferred.

• Strong understanding of inquiry-based, student-centered pedagogy.

• Native-level proficiency in English (both spoken and written).

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Experience in an international school context is advantageous.

• Experience or training in teaching Theory of Knowledge (TOK) is a plus.

• Dedication to continual professional development, including IB training.

What You Will Do

• Deliver engaging, concept-driven Geography lessons that enable students to grasp global patterns, human interactions, and environmental challenges.

• Design and implement inquiry-based units that align with MYP Global Contexts and DP curriculum standards.

• Assist students with DP Geography Internal Assessments and TOK assessments by providing clear guidance and constructive feedback.

• Lead TOK classes that encourage students to reflect on the creation, evaluation, and sharing of knowledge.

• Incorporate digital tools, case studies, and current global issues to enhance learning experiences.

• Establish a supportive classroom atmosphere where students feel empowered to share ideas and debate different viewpoints.

• Differentiate instruction to cater to the needs of diverse learners, including multilingual students.

• Collaborate with colleagues to refine the curriculum, align assessments, and support overall school learning objectives.

• Contribute to the vertical alignment between MYP and DP Geography and interdisciplinary collaboration, particularly with TOK and Individuals & Societies teams.

• Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance your IB practice and subject knowledge.

• Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and actively promote student well-being and pastoral care.
