IBDP/HSD Biology/ESS Specialist Teacher

About the Role

We are seeking an inspiring educator in Biology and Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS) who is dedicated to sparking curiosity and nurturing a passion for scientific inquiry among students in Grades 9–12. This position also encompasses teaching General Science to Grades 6–8 and playing an integral role in curriculum development, assessment practices, and contributing to the overall school community.

Key Responsibilities


Instruct General Science (Grades 6–8) and Biology and/or ESS (Grades 9–12) as part of the High School Diploma and/or IB Diploma Programme.


Provide engaging, high-quality lessons that motivate and challenge students of all skill levels.


Creatively plan lessons, assess student understanding effectively, and utilize data to enhance teaching and facilitate student progress.


Participate in the continuous advancement of the Science Department, including developing schemes of work and collaborative subject resources.


Tailor curriculum and instructional methods to accommodate diverse student needs while upholding rigorous academic standards.


Ensure clear and professional communication with students, colleagues, parents, and school leadership.


Maintain exemplary standards of classroom management and student behavior consistent with school policies.


Contribute to the broader school community through extracurricular activities, curriculum events, and enrichment programs.


Promote and exemplify the school’s values, safeguarding commitments, and high standards of professional behavior.

What We’re Looking For


A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field in Biology / Environmental Science.


A valid teaching certification that meets the Qatar MoEHE requirements.


Demonstrated experience in teaching Biology and/or ESS within the High School Diploma, IB Diploma Programme, and/or A Level.
(Experience with IB DP Biology and/or ESS is highly advantageous.)


A solid understanding of curriculum development, assessment methodologies, and differentiated teaching practices.


A strong enthusiasm for encouraging students’ intellectual curiosity and engagement beyond the standard curriculum.


A positive, collaborative, and proactive team player dedicated to ongoing professional development.


Exceptional classroom management and communication abilities.
