About This Role

Lanna International School is in search of a dedicated, organized, and enthusiastic Whole School Librarian to lead and enhance our library services across Early Years, Primary, and Secondary levels.

In this position, the Whole School Librarian will be responsible for curating and managing high-quality learning resources, promoting a vibrant reading culture, supporting educational activities throughout all levels, and ensuring our library facilities are inviting, engaging, and inclusive for everyone.

This role involves close collaboration with the Head of Primary, Head of Secondary, educators from all divisions, the Library Assistant, and Early Years Library staff to ensure the library significantly contributes to Lanna’s mission, vision, and Schoolwide Learning Outcomes (SLOs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and developing library services, resources, and learning spaces across Early Years, Primary, and Secondary.
  • Supporting teaching and learning by advocating for reading, information literacy, and the effective use of library resources.
  • Supervising library staff, providing leadership guidance, and initiating schoolwide reading programs and community engagement initiatives.
  • Managing daily library operations, which include inventory management, circulation, displays, and maintaining partnerships with external libraries.

Candidate Requirements

  • A relevant degree in Library Science, Education, or a related field, along with experience in a school library setting (Early Years, Primary, and/or Secondary).
  • A solid understanding of children’s and young adult literature, along with experience in managing library resources, cataloguing systems, and digital platforms.
  • A proactive, highly organized individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with various age groups.
  • A creative and inquiry-driven educator committed to fostering reading, information literacy, and enhancing learning through research skills, digital tools, and library-centered events.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
