Job Title: Therapy Assistant

Location: Bricklehurst Manor School – East Sussex TN5 7EL

Salary: £25,837.50 FTE DOE

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent

About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to become a part of our dedicated and evolving team of clinicians who support our children and young people at Bricklehurst Manor School.

In this cross-disciplinary position, your primary role will be to assist our Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the therapy team to deliver high-quality support tailored to our students' individual needs.

You will engage with our educational team that aids our young individuals and their families. Your responsibilities will include conducting evidence-based assessments and interventions under the guidance of qualified clinicians and the Lead Clinician, aimed at understanding and addressing our young people's needs while facilitating their participation in meaningful activities and interactions. You will play a vital role in developing communication and sensory profiles, contributing to placement plans, and implementing various interventions. Additional duties will involve observations, co-facilitating staff training, attending multi-agency meetings, and participating in ongoing service development. Regular opportunities for continuous professional development are available through our internal specialist forums and funding for external training.

We seek a Therapy Assistant with experience working with young people who have special educational needs. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, able to work under the supervision of a qualified clinician, and enjoys creatively developing tailored interventions for our most complex pupils. A dynamic approach to problem-solving is essential for this role.

Essential Criteria:
- 5 x GCSEs Grade C or above, including English
- Evidence of relevant Post 16 education
- Willingness to pursue further qualifications as required
- Experience as a therapy assistant or in a similar role is advantageous
- Experience in an educational setting is advantageous
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Knowledge and understanding of working with children and young people with SEN
- Capability to conduct both 1:1 and group sessions under supervision
- Proficiency in communicating complex, technical, and clinically sensitive information effectively, both in writing and verbally, to clients, their families, and a diverse range of professionals
- Excellent organizational skills and experience in completing administrative tasks for a team are advantageous
- Full valid UK driving license and access to own vehicle
