About This Role

The Dragon is looking to hire an exceptional teacher to instruct Maths for students in Years 5 to 8, who is eager to engage actively in the vibrant and thriving community of our school. This role is suitable for an ECT (Early Career Teacher) or an individual with several years of teaching experience, whether in senior schools (both independent and maintained) or prep schools. We also encourage applications from those who have experience teaching Key Stage 2 Maths within a primary education context.

All faculty members participate in extracurricular activities, including Dragon QUEST, our Saturday morning enrichment initiative. Some staff members contribute to our Sports program, but the size of the school allows for a diverse range of cultural and academic interests to flourish, providing numerous opportunities for career advancement within the institution. Despite being the UK’s largest co-educational boarding and day preparatory school, The Dragon maintains a deeply personalized approach to each child, upholding the values of ‘kindness, courage, and respect’ shared by the entire school community. The Dragon is non-selective in its admissions and takes great pride in delivering exceptional academic, pastoral, and co-curricular outcomes for students in both its pre-preparatory department, Dragon Pre-Prep (for children aged 4-7 years), and its preparatory department (ages 8-13).

Reports to: Head of Maths
