Teacher of French for September 2026
About This Role
Runnymede College, a private and non-denominational British educational institution situated in Madrid, offers a British-style education to students aged two to eighteen from diverse nationalities. Our curriculum is based on the British National Curriculum.
Founded as a private school in September 1967, Runnymede College opened its primary section in 1987, with the entire institution relocating to La Moraleja, a northern area of Madrid, since 1990. The school is divided into three sections: Pre-Prep (Pre Nursery to Year 3), Prep (Years 4 to 8), and Senior School (Years 9 to 13).
At Runnymede College, we pride ourselves on maintaining high academic standards. In June 2025, 57% of our students attained A-A* grades at A level, exceeding the 48% A*-A grades achieved by independent schools across England this year. Additionally, 67% of our students received A*-A grades at IGCSE, which notably outperforms the 48% A*-A grades reported by the English independent sector at the GCSE level.
From our graduating class of 2025, 83% of students moving to the UK are expected to enroll in Top 10 universities, as highlighted in the Sunday Times Good University Guide. Our graduates will be welcomed by prestigious institutions such as Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, UCL, and LSE. In the United States, students have commenced their studies at distinguished colleges including Harvard, Columbia, UPenn, and Brown.
Some students will remain in Spain to attend reputable institutions like ICADE, IE, and ICAI, while others will pursue their education at leading European universities in France and Ireland.
We encourage you to join a dynamic and rewarding educational community, both within and outside the classroom. Candidates should be enthusiastic about actively participating in the school’s co-curricular activities.
