We are seeking an experienced elementary educator to teach French as an additional language in the Junior School, specifically for Grades 5-7. You will work in collaboration with a team of dedicated educators focused on fostering the growth of young girls in the Junior School. Responsibilities:
•
Foster a welcoming and supportive environment for young learners
•
Teach French as an additional language in the Junior School, focusing on Grades 5, 6, and 7, through engaging and interactive classes
•
Incorporate elements of French culture within lesson plans
•
Ensure a seamless progression of language learning competencies throughout the Junior School by collaborating with colleagues
•
Work with all Junior School educators to address students' needs
•
Differentiate expectations for language learners
•
Utilize instructional technology to enhance and support learning
•
Implement the BC Curriculum for French as a second language, with an emphasis on the Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling approach
•
Engage with the Junior School’s co-curricular programs
Requirements/Qualifications:
•
Native-like proficiency in French (both spoken and written)
•
Familiarity with TPRS is a plus
•
B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or Independent School Certification
•
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
•
Ability to accommodate diverse learning styles at the elementary level
•
Collaborative, enthusiastic, and passionate about teaching
•
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•
Proven innovation, flexibility, and organizational capabilities with attention to detail
•
Passion, commitment, and readiness to engage in co-curricular programs and the diverse life of the school community
Employment and Application Details:
Classes begin in September 2026, following an orientation for teachers in late August 2026.

Compensation: $69,541-$123,242 depending on experience and education.
