About This Role

We are seeking a motivated and self-assured Sports Assistant who is eager to support children in their physical education journey. Reporting to the Head of PE, Sports & Physical Wellbeing, your role will involve assisting the Sports and PE Department with the implementation of the PE and Games curriculum. This includes helping with lessons, clubs, practices, and fixtures for students from Year 1 to Year 9.

You will bring a positive and adaptable attitude, along with a supportive approach to enhancing children’s learning. Being child-centered, professional, and approachable, you will emphasize teamwork and demonstrate a willingness to engage with the broader School community as needed.

Knowledge of safeguarding, the ability to follow directives, and effective communication with both students and colleagues are all crucial and will be evaluated during the interview process.

Hours: 40 hours a week (8:30 am – 5:00 pm, including a 30-minute unpaid break) with the possibility of working beyond 5:00 pm to assist with fixtures.

Working Weeks: 41 weeks per year (35 weeks during term time, including INSET days, plus six additional weeks to support the holiday club).
