Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist
Location: The Shires – Oakham (Secondary) LE15 6JB (3 days) & Meadows View (Primary) PE9 2JL (2 days)
Salary: Up to £53,200 FTE DOE
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent (Term time only, or flexibility around full-time contract can be discussed based on your personal circumstances)
Essential: Full valid driving license and access to own vehicle

The role:
We are in search of a Speech and Language Therapist to join our internal clinical team. In collaboration with the education team, you will provide tailored Speech and Language Therapy assessments and interventions for pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, are neurodivergent, or have social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will adhere to the standards outlined in the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working, which will guide your practice and delineate your roles and responsibilities while considering the regulations of your governing and professional bodies. You will manage a Speech and Language therapy caseload with the complete support of your assigned clinical supervisor and Lead Clinician, while also contributing to staff training and consultation as needed. Essential Criteria:
- Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registered, and registered with the RCSLT
- NQT’s are welcome to apply with SEND experience (Essential)
- Relevant experience in a previous role engaging and working with individuals presenting complex and diverse communication profiles
- Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice
- Experience in multidisciplinary collaboration across various settings
- Experience communicating with and working alongside families, relatives, and carers
- Interest in developing knowledge and skills in various areas of Speech and Language Therapy practice
- Strong relationship-building, analytical, and judgment skills
- Excellent communication abilities (oral and written)
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Competence in core areas of Speech and Language Therapy practice with a clear understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
- Familiarity with various Speech and Language Therapy assessment tools and intervention types, as well as formulating support plans based on individual needs
- Understanding of legislation and its implications for clinical practice and professional management relating to the client group
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Willingness to pursue training and further qualifications relevant to the client group supported
- Full valid UK driving license and access to own vehicle
Desirable:
- Some understanding of other differences, such as sensory and motor, that may impact an individual’s communication strengths, differences, traits, difficulties, and needs profile
- Evidence of understanding the relationship between arousal levels and communication
