About This Role

Sessional Mentor – Alternative Education Support
Location: Nottingham & surrounding areas
Organisation: Want2Achieve
Contract: Sessional / Flexible
Pay: Competitive hourly rate

Help young individuals reconnect with education and inspire them to envision a bright future.

At Want2Achieve, we assist young people who face challenges in attending mainstream schools for various reasons. Many of our students encounter obstacles to learning and engagement; however, with the appropriate guidance and support, they can achieve remarkable progress.

Due to an increase in referrals, we are expanding our team and seeking dedicated, resilient, and passionate Mentors to assist students throughout Nottingham and nearby regions.

Some of the individuals we serve are deemed hard to reach, yet through patience, consistency, and tailored support, Want2Achieve has successfully helped many learners re-engage with education and personal growth.

This position is both demanding and immensely gratifying for those who believe every young person deserves the chance to thrive.

The Role
As a Mentor, you will work one-on-one with young people, assisting them in overcoming barriers that hinder their engagement in learning. This may involve bolstering their confidence, emotional wellbeing, behavior, motivation, and readiness to learn.

Sessions may occur in community settings, alternative provision environments, or occasionally within the home, depending on the learner's specific needs.

You will play a crucial role in enabling young people to rebuild trust, cultivate life skills, and reconnect with educational or training pathways.

What We’re Looking For
We are seeking mentors who are:
- Passionate about assisting young people facing educational barriers
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient
- Skilled in establishing positive and trusting relationships
- Confident in managing challenging situations with professionalism and composure
- Flexible and willing to travel within the Nottingham area

Experience with SEMH, SEND, alternative provision, youth work, social care, or pastoral support is highly desirable.

Why Join Want2Achieve?
At Want2Achieve, we firmly believe that the right support can change a young person’s trajectory. Our team works creatively and collaboratively to engage students who may have become disengaged from conventional education.

You will be part of an expanding organization renowned for effectively supporting young people that others may find difficult to reach.

In addition to mentoring positions, we are also looking for Functional Skills English and Maths Tutors, so if you have a background in education or academic assistance, we would be eager to hear from you.

Interested?
If you are driven to make a real difference in the lives of young people and wish to join a team dedicated to helping students surmount obstacles and achieve success, we would love to hear from you. Please email your CV to enquiries@want2achieve.co.uk

Join us in empowering young individuals to believe in themselves and strive for more.
