About This Role

Secondary Physics Teacher (m/f/d)

St. George’s the British International School, Munich, Germany

As our institution continues to grow, St. George's School is actively seeking a highly skilled Physics teacher to become part of our secondary education team, with an anticipated start date in August 2026.

The School

Founded in September 2013, St. George’s School Munich has rapidly developed into a dynamic community of over 800 students and 100 educators. Our philosophy centers on delivering a comprehensive curriculum alongside a family-oriented approach, fostering a welcoming and stimulating atmosphere for both staff and students.

In September 2017, we embarked on an exciting new journey by relocating to a newly built campus in the city. This modern facility offers outstanding educational resources for learners of all ages and disciplines.

Our institution follows the National Curriculum, providing IGCSE qualifications in the Upper School. Sixth Form students are prepared for the International Baccalaureate Diploma.

As part of a network of three schools across Germany, St. George’s presents the successful candidate with numerous opportunities for professional growth and advancement within the school group.

The Location

Our new campus is located in Schwabing-Freimann, just north of the city center. The site is easily accessible via the U6 metro line and the A9 motorway.

Munich, the capital of Bavaria and the third largest city in Germany, is a vibrant cultural center with a diverse international community. Positioned at the northern edge of the Alps, Munich offers a high quality of life and abundant opportunities for travel and outdoor activities.

Munich Airport is situated 30 km from the school, providing daily flights to the UK, while high-speed trains connect the city to various destinations across Europe.

The Role

We are eager to recruit a qualified Physics Teacher to join our secondary teaching team. This position entails instructing iGCSE and IBDP courses.

The ideal candidate will be an inspiring educator with a proven history of helping students achieve their potential. We are looking for a well-rounded individual who combines experience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for teaching that encourages our students.

Our secondary department serves students aged 11-18 and encompasses the curricula for Key Stage 3, IGCSE, and IB Diploma. Familiarity with the British education system is crucial. While experience with IB teaching is preferred, it is not a strict requirement.

Given the dynamic nature of our school, flexibility and a willingness to support colleagues are essential. A strong interest in contributing to the lively pastoral and extracurricular activities of the school will also be advantageous.
