RAK Academy AL Hamra:
Located in the southern part of Ras Al Khaimah within the Al Hamra community, RAK Academy – Al Hamra is an advancing primary and lower secondary school that implements an adapted UK National Curriculum from Pre-K to Grade 8, along with UAE MOE subjects. Our new secondary school, which will serve Grades 6 to 8, is set to welcome its inaugural students in August 2026. Accredited by British Schools Overseas (BSO), we are benchmarked against leading international British institutions and are fully equipped to offer ECT induction for teachers.
The Role (Founding Position):
RAK Academy – Al Hamra is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and inspiring Secondary Arabic A Teacher to establish an exceptional Arabic program in our new secondary school. This groundbreaking position offers a unique opportunity to shape curriculum development, departmental culture, language proficiency pathways, and teaching standards as we prepare to open in August 2026.
As a founding teacher, the Secondary Arabic A Teacher will:
- Conduct engaging and challenging Arabic A lessons for Grades 6–8
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the Arabic A curriculum
- Promote a strong culture of Arabic literacy, fluency, and appreciation for Emirati and Arab heritage
- Support enrichment programs like reading initiatives, debate clubs, and cultural events
- Work collaboratively with the Head of Arabic and primary Arabic leads to ensure seamless continuity and progression
- Engage in curriculum planning, assessment, and departmental development
- Teach across various key stages as the school grows

Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Studies or a related discipline.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
- Knowledge of the Ministry of Education curriculum for Arabic A.
- Strong grasp of effective teaching and learning methods.
- Proficient in utilizing technology to enhance educational experiences.
- Ability to engage, motivate, and support students.
- A reflective practitioner with creative and innovative thinking skills.
- An enthusiastic and positive team player with a growth mindset.
- Willingness to actively engage in extracurricular activities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience teaching GCSE/IGCSE/A-Level courses (Early Career Teachers are welcome to apply).
Desirable:
- Trained in the UK Curriculum or International Baccalaureate.
- Proven success in enhancing student outcomes.
- Experience in curriculum development or leadership roles.
