About This Role
The Position
In this role, you will focus on meeting the academic, social, and welfare needs of each child in your classroom, while keeping parents regularly updated on their child's development.
Our Pre-Prep classes feature a team of two educators—one native English speaker and one Chinese teacher—who will work together as much as possible. However, each teacher may also have specific responsibilities in delivering specialized content. Therefore, effective collaboration is essential.
Primary Responsibilities
- Guide the teaching and learning process in your designated class as directed by the school leadership team.
- Develop and maintain documented lesson and activity plans tailored to the varied needs of students.
- Encourage learning through play, problem-solving, inquiry, and hands-on experimentation.
- Comply with all policies and procedures related to safeguarding, health, safety, confidentiality, and data protection, reporting any concerns to the proper authority.
- Be prepared to modify teaching strategies to accommodate the diverse ages and abilities of students.
- Observe and evaluate student behavior, interactions, and social growth within the classroom setting.
- Participate in co-curricular activities, including after-school clubs and programs.
- Supervise students during meal and play times as instructed by the school leadership team.
- Communicate with parents regarding their children's learning and development in accordance with school policy.
- Engage in Personal and Professional Development (PPD) opportunities organized or endorsed by the School.
- Coordinate with the SENCO (or the school leadership team if the SENCO is unavailable) about any students with special learning needs.
- Follow the School's Equality of Opportunity Policy to promote an inclusive environment free from bias and discrimination.
- Support the Admissions and Marketing teams by providing information to prospective families and offering assistance and reassurance.
- Positively represent and advocate for the School at local events as required.
- Complete any reasonable tasks assigned by the school leadership team.
