ROLE SUMMARY:
Pembridge Hall is an independent preparatory school for girls (ages 4 – 11) located in a serene residential square in Notting Hill, accommodating 463 students. The school is dedicated to preparing its pupils for entry into many prestigious day and boarding senior schools across the country, operating at a level that significantly exceeds National Curriculum standards.

We are currently seeking a part-time Music Teacher (2 days per week) to join our team starting in September 2026. The Music Teacher will deliver a comprehensive, engaging, and challenging Music curriculum throughout the school, ensuring that students of all ages cultivate their musical talents, creativity, confidence, and enjoyment of performance. This role involves teaching Music across various year groups from Reception to Year 6 and contributing to the broader musical culture of the school.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and deliver dynamic, practical, and engaging Music lessons that cater to the needs of the pupils.
- Implement the Music curriculum, facilitating activities that include singing, instrumental practice, composition, and performance.
- Conduct ongoing assessments and maintain accurate records as per school policies.
- Foster the development of students' confidence, teamwork, listening, and creative skills.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance personal teaching methods, ensuring that instruction is rigorous, innovative, and imaginative.
- Participate in extracurricular activities, such as choir rehearsals, ensembles, and informal concerts.
- Stay informed about advancements in the Music curriculum and effective teaching practices.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- An Honours degree in Music or a closely related discipline.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Music to primary-aged children.
- Demonstrated evidence of significant pupil progress and high-quality Music instruction.
- Proficiency as a pianist, with the ability to accompany all performances and ABRSM examinations.
- A variety of teaching strategies to inspire and motivate young learners.
- Strong classroom management and organizational abilities.
- Confidence in utilizing ICT for Music education.
- Skills to use assessment effectively to enhance educational standards.
- Excellent communication abilities with children and parents.
