We are currently seeking a Mandarin teacher to join our On-Call roster for the 2025/26 school year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a teacher-on-call for Grades 8 - 12
• Provide detailed notes for the regular teacher following each assignment
• Assist in supervising students during non-instructional periods
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff as needed
• Provide personalized instruction and learning support for individual students as required
• Participate in co-curricular activities and clubs as needed
• Familiarize yourself with and adhere to all health and safety protocols
• Perform other assigned tasks as necessary

Qualifications:

• Required: B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or Independent School Certification qualification criteria
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with a concentration in Mandarin and qualifications for teaching at intermediate and senior levels
• Prior experience as a Mandarin Teacher at the senior school level
• Comprehensive understanding of current educational practices as outlined by the BC Ministry of Education
• Familiarity with resources such as Chinese Made Easy, QTalk, and Ponddy is advantageous
• Experience in an independent school environment is a plus
• Awareness of the diverse learning styles of girls and young women
• Collaborative, enthusiastic, and passionate about teaching
• Committed to the teaching profession, embracing best practices and professional standards
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
