About This Role

We are looking for a compassionate, organized, and professional Learning Support Assistant to collaborate with a Year 7 student who has speech, language, and communication needs, while also playing an active role in the broader Learning Support Department. This position entails facilitating the student’s academic, social, and personal growth according to their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), providing additional help to other students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) as needed, and assisting with the administrative and organizational responsibilities that ensure the department operates smoothly.

The ideal candidate will possess a sincere enthusiasm for education and a dedication to fostering the development of our students, as well as contributing to the overall objectives of the Learning Support Department.

Key responsibilities include delivering personalized support to this student during lessons, addressing their individual learning and organizational requirements, and extending support to other students with SEND when necessary. The role will also encompass various administrative duties within the department to help maintain effective Learning Support operations.

Candidates should have prior experience in a similar role, strong literacy and numeracy abilities suited for a secondary school setting, excellent communication skills, and the capability to work collaboratively and adaptively as part of a dynamic departmental team.

Hours of Work: We are open to considering both full-time and part-time options (25 hours per week), during term time only. Support is needed from 8:30am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.
