About the Role


Te Kura o Waimata is looking for a passionate kaiako to join our small rural team. We have a fabulous supportive school board, high calibre kaimahi and vibrant, energetic tamariki. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team focused on delivering high-quality learning experiences.


Key Responsibilities



  • Have competency in te reo Māori and a deep commitment to tikanga Māori

  • Be a strong classroom practitioner with culturally responsive pedagogy

  • Have the ability to build strong relationships with ākonga, staff, whānau, and the community

  • Preferably have completed Structure Literacy training or already competent practice

  • Be innovative, passionate, and ready to contribute to positive change

  • Engage in ongoing professional learning and school-wide inquiry
