IT Helpdesk Technician
About This Role
Richard Huish College is well-regarded in the region for its diverse selection of A level and vocational courses offered in Taunton and the surrounding Somerset area. We are currently on the lookout for a dedicated full-time IT Helpdesk Technician to join our team on a permanent basis.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering outstanding IT Helpdesk customer support and first-line IT assistance across all of Huish. This support will be provided in-person, via phone, email, and through IT systems. Key responsibilities include directly aiding users with hardware, Microsoft applications, Apple applications, and various other systems, while ensuring compliance with legal standards and the smooth operation of these systems, including coordinating repairs with suppliers. You will also be tasked with enhancing automated workflows through Power Automate to optimize college forms and partnering with departments to automate IT-related tasks utilizing Microsoft 365 tools.
As part of a highly proficient team, this position offers the chance to broaden your expertise across all facets of IT. Additionally, you will oversee the efficient operation of the IT Helpdesk and the management of job-logging systems.

- Salary: £25,951 - £27,733
Point 7-10 on the Support Staff Salary Scale
- Hours: 37 hours per week
- Contract: Full-time, permanent, year-round
- Start Date: ASAP
