About This Role

Join a dynamic and ambitious department where Physics is highly regarded and remarkably successful. At Woldingham, our students exhibit a keen intellectual curiosity and motivation, with many advancing to STEM programs at prestigious universities. We are in search of an inspiring Head of Physics to guide a skilled and committed team in delivering an engaging and challenging curriculum from Year 9 through Year 13. This is a distinctive opportunity to influence the strategic vision for Physics, foster a love for scientific inquiry, and nurture a culture of academic excellence within a supportive and forward-thinking Science Faculty.

Woldingham is a thriving and successful Catholic boarding and day school for girls aged 11 to 18, firmly recognized as one of the premier independent girls' schools in the UK, outshining many institutions with far more selective admission processes. Central to this success is Woldingham’s academic enrichment alongside a robust extra-curricular program, pastoral care, and a nurturing community. Conveniently located near London, yet nestled in a stunning rural landscape, Woldingham boasts a strong sense of community and culture built upon a proud heritage that spans 180 years. We are dedicated to an exciting future rooted in innovative ideas, a pioneering spirit, and state-of-the-art facilities.

The Woldingham community is diverse, representing a variety of backgrounds and cultures, with numerous languages spoken. This diversity is appreciated and respected, and we warmly invite applications from all individuals who meet the role's requirements, regardless of their background or culture. All applications will be assessed solely on the candidate's ability to fulfill the job responsibilities.

Once you have completed your application, please send it along with your cover letter to hr@woldinghamschool.co.uk. This position will close at 09:00 am on Monday, April 20, 2026. Interviews will be conducted during the week commencing April 27, 2026. Candidates should ensure they are available for an on-site interview if shortlisted.

Woldingham School is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS report will be necessary for the successful candidate.
