Grade 1 Class Teacher
About This Role
The Grade 1 Class teacher is committed to Waldorf education and inspiring a love for learning in young children. Key qualities sought include exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively across different departments. The chosen individual will oversee a classroom with up to 30 students and must exhibit strong organizational and classroom management capabilities. Responsibilities for the Grade 1 teaching role will include, but are not limited to: planning lessons and organizing the classroom; delivering main lessons; conducting specialized classes; and preparing reports for students. Furthermore, the Grade 1 Class teacher will also be responsible for: participating in faculty meetings; acting as a liaison for parents; hosting parent evenings; engaging in all school events; and providing substitute teaching for other classes when required.
Education and Skill Requirements consist of: BC Teacher Certification; preference will be given to those with 5 or more years of experience in Waldorf Class Teaching; a Waldorf Training Certificate; and proficiency in both written and spoken English.
Employment Terms: This role is a permanent, full-time position (0.8-1.0 FTE), with a salary range of $45,150.00 to $69,669.00 per year, prorated based on FTE and experience.
