Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic French-Spanish Teacher to become a part of our faculty starting in August 2026.

The perfect candidate will teach upper primary and lower secondary students in French, as well as instruct secondary students in Spanish, delivering engaging lessons that improve students’ reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. The teacher will prepare students for Key Stage 3 assessments while nurturing a passion for languages and an appreciation for diverse cultures.

This role requires the creation of interactive and captivating lessons, addressing the individual learning needs of students, integrating technology into the curriculum, and participating in cultural and language events.

Key Responsibilities


Deliver exceptional instruction in French (upper primary to lower secondary) and Spanish (secondary) that enhances students’ language abilities.


Develop engaging, student-focused lessons that promote communication skills and intercultural understanding.


Conduct regular assessments of student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their language development.


Leverage digital tools, language technologies, and online resources to enhance the educational experience.


Encourage participation in cultural events, language exchanges, and interdisciplinary initiatives.


Support students with varying learning needs and adapt teaching strategies as required.


Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to a vibrant language department.

Skills and Competencies


Native or near-native proficiency in both French and Spanish.


Thorough understanding of Key Stage 2–3 and lower secondary language curricula.


Knowledge of modern MFL teaching strategies and assessment techniques.


Experience in integrating technology and digital resources into language education.


Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and colleagues.


Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve fluency and confidence in language use.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in French, Spanish, Modern Languages, or a related discipline.

Recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed, or equivalent).

Experience in teaching French and Spanish to primary and lower secondary learners.

Preferred experience in organizing cultural activities or events related to language learning.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
