We are currently seeking an exceptional early childhood educator to work in partnership with teachers in our Junior Kindergarten program. As a vital member of the collaborative teaching team, you will be instrumental in supporting the growth and development of young girls at the Crofton House School Early Childhood Education Centre. Our educational approach is centered on play-based learning, informed by principles of student-centeredness, collaboration, and inquiry, all of which enhance the learning journey for our young students.
Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM daily
Responsibilities:
● Effectively collaborate within a vibrant team of early childhood educators
● Implement the Junior Kindergarten program through a team-oriented strategy
● Integrate a meaningful play-based curriculum
● Design and deliver engaging and interactive lessons
● Guide ECE students through various play-based learning experiences
● Explore opportunities for outdoor learning activities
● Assist students during daily physical education sessions
● Enrich the educational experience for diverse learners
● Provide small group and individualized instruction to bolster student learning
● Support students during non-instructional periods (transitions, lunchtime, outdoor play)
● Record and evaluate the progress of young learners
● Cultivate strong relationships with parents
● Assist with the after-school care program
● Engage in a comprehensive co-curricular program as needed
● Collaborate with a dedicated team of professionals who exemplify the school values of courage, creativity, and citizenship
Qualifications:
● Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education
● Demonstrated experience as an early childhood educator
● In-depth understanding of the importance of play in promoting the development of young learners
● Experience leveraging outdoor environments as effective learning spaces
● Proven ability to work collaboratively with others
● Creative, adaptable, and patient approach
● Excellent communication abilities
● Strong commitment to the care and safety of young children
● Dedication to integrating school routines and learning within a childcare framework
● Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
