About This Role

The Educational Assistant will aid the Class Teacher in fulfilling the objectives set forth in the IEP for a specific student by delivering personalized support within the classroom environment. This position encompasses various duties that cater to the unique requirements of the child, emphasizing their personal care, educational advancement, and holistic growth, ensuring that each interaction is tailored to the individual student. Furthermore, the Educational Assistant will assist other students in the class, under the Teacher's direction, during times when they are not working with the assigned child.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to support the student with unique learning styles.
- Perform assessments and create concise progress reports in alignment with particular IEP goals.
- Supervise outdoor activities as required.
- Participate in parent conferences and IEP meetings upon request.

Qualifications:
- Required training recognized for an educational assistant role.
- Experience and/or training in supporting children on the Autism spectrum.
- Background in working with children between the ages of 5 and 10 years.
- Knowledge of Waldorf Education principles.
- Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
- Proven success in building and maintaining strong relationships with parents, teachers, and students with special needs.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team under the supervision of a teacher.

This role offers a competitive hourly pay rate of $24.00 - $26.00, based on experience and qualifications, with an expectation of approximately 20 hours of work each week.

Compensation

$26 - $28 per hour
