● Assess, treat, and rehabilitate injuries using individualized, evidence-based physiotherapy care plans, including advanced manual therapy techniques within the scope of practice.

● Oversee the Return-to-Play (RTP) pathway, acting as the primary clinical authority on student-athlete readiness for high-intensity or contact sports.

● Deliver emergency care as required and coordinate referrals to external medical providers when necessary.

● Maintain accurate and confidential medical records.

Injury Prevention, Concussion & Emergency Preparedness

● Develop and implement evidence-based injury prevention and prehab programs for all age groups.

● Lead concussion management protocols for Grades 6–12, which include return-to-learn and return-to-play procedures.

● Contribute to the development, training, and execution of the Athletics Emergency Action Plan (EAP).

● Manage travel medical kits and provide remote medical support for teams competing abroad.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Wellbeing, Safeguarding & Collaboration

● Ensure that all interactions align with international safeguarding and Child Protection standards, upholding professionalism in one-on-one engagements.

● Facilitate regular Athlete Wellbeing meetings with coaches and nurses to monitor students at risk due to injury, workload, or wellbeing issues.

● Advise coaches on appropriate medical accommodations for student-athletes with chronic health conditions.

● Integrate performance-focused wellbeing strategies (e.g., mindfulness, recovery practices) and refer to counseling professionals as needed.

● Collect and track relevant health and performance data following school policy and consent requirements.

● Oversee the procurement of athletic training equipment, supplies, and annual budgeting in collaboration with the Director of Athletics.

● Assist in evaluating athletic facilities and equipment to minimize injury risks.
