Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Arabic B Teacher to join our team in August 2026.

The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching Arabic as a second language to non-native speakers within the British Curriculum framework. They will be skilled in designing engaging, student-centered lessons that promote language proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, while facilitating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Instructional Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging Arabic language lessons tailored to students’ proficiency levels.
  • Teach students in reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to enhance student learning experiences.
  • Incorporate cultural aspects from the Arab world to enrich language instruction.

2. Assessment and Evaluation

  • Design and administer formative and summative assessments.
  • Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and report outcomes as needed.

3. Curriculum and Lesson Planning

  • Create lesson plans that adhere to curriculum standards (e.g., IB, Cambridge, national curriculum).
  • Adapt teaching materials to meet diverse learning needs and language abilities.
  • Employ technology and multimedia tools where appropriate.

4. Classroom Management

  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
  • Encourage active participation and use of the Arabic language.
  • Address classroom behavior respectfully and consistently.

5. Professional Development

  • Participate in training and workshops to stay updated on effective language teaching methodologies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues for interdisciplinary planning and school events.

6. Communication

  • Maintain open communication with students, parents, and fellow educators.
  • Provide support and guidance to students to help them succeed.

Skills and Competencies

  • Curriculum Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Arabic B language framework within the British Curriculum, including Key Stages and expectations for non-native speakers.
  • Language Instruction: Ability to teach Arabic as an additional language, focusing on listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills using age-appropriate strategies.
  • Differentiation: Skilled in modifying lessons to meet the varied learning needs, language levels, and cultural backgrounds of students.
  • Assessment and Reporting: Proficient in formative and summative assessment methods aligned with British standards, with the capacity to track progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Lesson Planning: Excellent planning skills to create engaging, interactive, and student-focused lessons that align with educational objectives.
  • Technology Integration: Competent in using digital tools and platforms to enhance Arabic language instruction and student engagement.
  • Classroom Management: Effective in managing classrooms to foster a respectful, inclusive environment where students feel confident using Arabic.
