About This Role

Doha Academy is an esteemed institution accredited by QNSA (Qatar National Schools Accreditation) and NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges), dedicated to fostering the growth and well-being of both students and staff. As one of the oldest and most reputable schools in Qatar, we serve a vibrant community of over 2000 students aged 3 to 18 from more than 40 different nationalities.

The Vice Principal plays a key role in supporting the Principal and Head of Schools by providing professional leadership and management for all institutions within the Doha Academy network. The Principal is tasked with ensuring high standards of education through effective management of teaching and learning, aiming to unlock the full potential of every student while cultivating a culture of excellence, equality, and high expectations for staff and students alike. The Vice Principal will work in alignment with this vision, contributing their professional expertise to fulfill the Academy’s Vision and Mission.

Our vision and mission are centered on delivering exceptional, accessible, and inclusive education. Given that many of our students speak English as a second language, experience in supporting language acquisition will be beneficial.

Key responsibilities for the ideal candidate encompass:

Organizational Leadership

- Formulate organizational goals and objectives that reflect the vision, mission, and values of Al Faleh Educational Holding.
- Assist with the recruitment and onboarding of a diverse and highly-qualified staff.
- Support the management of serious staff and student disciplinary issues.
- Collaborate closely with the Principal to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the school.
- Guide teachers and staff in nurturing a positive school culture that aligns with the vision, mission, and values of Doha Academy Schools and Qatar National Vision 2030.
- Foster an environment where all staff are encouraged and supported in enhancing their skills and subject knowledge while collaborating with one another.
- Efficiently manage professional time to appropriately fulfill the Vice Principal role according to organizational needs.
- Promote a school climate that encourages success for both students and staff, fostering respect and appreciation for all stakeholders.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with all regulations set forth by the Ministry of Education in Qatar.
- Support the management of the student enrollment process to achieve the targeted enrollment goals of Doha Academy.
- Maintain appropriate standards for student behavior, performance, and attendance.
- Directly oversee the Head of Primary (Al Waab), Head of School (Al Salwa), and the DIKG Head.

Instructional Leadership

- Take a proactive role in advancing the school’s vision, mission, and strategic objectives to support Academy readiness and socio-emotional success for all students.
- Enhance the capacity of teachers and staff to develop and sustain meaningful partnerships with families from diverse backgrounds and community members to bolster student achievement and well-being.
- Analyze student achievement data to pinpoint areas needing improvement and implement necessary changes.
- Develop and apply performance management systems for teachers and staff to foster a culture of continuous improvement, support, and accountability.
- Build teams of colleagues with clearly defined roles and responsibilities, ensuring accountability for decision-making and educational impact, thereby distributing leadership across all Doha Academy Schools.

Operational Leadership

- Ensure that the schools’ systems and processes are efficient and effective, adhering to principles of transparency and integrity.
- Oversee the creation of rigorous, fair, and transparent systems for managing staff performance, addressing any issues of underperformance.
- Work in close collaboration with the designated Operations Director.
- Carry out any duties within the scope of employment and certifications as necessary.
- Request a professional or personal meeting with the CEO.

Community Relations

- Play a crucial role in fostering an outward-facing school that collaborates with other schools and organizations to promote best practices and enhance academic and social outcomes for all students.
- Maintain regular communication with parents, encouraging their support and advice to build a cooperative relationship that benefits students and staff.
- Attend Board meetings as required.
- Participate in and, when necessary, oversee additional school events, such as Graduation, promotional activities, and parent-teacher conferences.
