About This Role
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a remarkable and seasoned Deputy Head of Primary to join our Senior Leadership Team. This position offers a chance for a proactive and innovative leader to significantly influence the trajectory of a high-achieving school.
The selected candidate will act as the Deputy to the Head of Primary and will be instrumental in promoting excellence in learning and teaching, advancing curriculum development, and fostering staff professional growth. You will collaborate closely with the Head of Primary, Vice Principal, and the broader leadership team to enact the school’s educational vision while ensuring students achieve the highest standards.
• Assist and stand in for the Head of Primary as needed
• Spearhead the creation and execution of exceptional teaching and learning within the Primary phase
• Propel curriculum innovation and guarantee effective implementation
• Contribute to the strategic direction of the school as an integral member of the Senior Leadership Team
• Develop and instill globally relevant teaching methodologies in line with the school’s vision and GEMS standards
• Observe teaching practices, evaluate performance, and provide constructive feedback to enhance outcomes
• Lead initiatives for staff professional development and align with school improvement objectives
• Set clear learning goals and benchmarks to elevate student achievement
• Ensure the consistent application of all policies, procedures, and standards
• Engage in the broader school community, including co-curricular activities and events

• High standards of teaching and learning consistent with GEMS educational expectations
• Strong collaboration among staff at all levels
• Observable student progress and achievement

Person Specification
• Recognized teaching qualification (mandatory)
Experience
• A minimum of 10 years of teaching experience in reputable institutions
• Demonstrated experience in a Senior Leadership position
• Proven track record in leading change and school improvement efforts
Skills
• Exceptional communication abilities, both oral and written
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficient in using ICT to enhance teaching and leadership
• Outstanding interpersonal skills with the capability to inspire and lead teams effectively
