About This Role

Aldar Education is seeking an exceptional Key Stage Leader - Upper Primary for The Pearl British Academy in Abu Dhabi, set to begin in the Academic Year 2026/2027.

This role offers an exciting chance to become part of the highly regarded Aldar community.

Applicants should possess a strong understanding of teaching and leading a phase within the English National Curriculum. Candidates must showcase a successful history of implementing effective strategies that elevate standards and address learning gaps, ensuring remarkable progress for all students. They should exhibit leadership abilities and experiences at various levels, demonstrating effectiveness in collaborative teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement departmental policies and practices that reflect the School’s vision, aims, commitment to high achievement standards, and effective teaching and learning.

• Establish, monitor, and evaluate short, medium, and long-term development plans for the department.

• Utilize data effectively to identify underachieving students in the department and create actionable plans to support them.

• Analyze and interpret relevant school data to inform policy decisions and assist in the writing of the department/school SEF.

• Ensure that appropriate and relevant schemes of work are developed, implemented, and regularly reviewed for all year groups and courses, including adequate provisions for SEN/POD, G&T, and EAL students.

• Guarantee curriculum coverage, continuity, and progression within the department for all students, including those with high abilities and those with special educational needs.

• Set clear expectations for staff regarding achievement standards, quality of teaching and learning, and behavior.

• Evaluate the quality of teaching and learning within the department, identifying effective practices and areas needing improvement, and take necessary actions to enhance teaching and learning quality.

• Manage team performance according to the school’s performance management policy.

• Ensure efficient and effective deployment of staff and resources.

• Maintain effective control over the Department's Resource and CapEx budgets.

• Utilize accommodation effectively to foster a stimulating teaching and learning environment, in line with the Learning Environment Policy.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related subject along with a PGCE or another recognized teaching qualification.

Minimum Experience:

• At least 6 years of teaching experience.

• Familiarity with the UK curriculum.

Compensation
