About This Role

EAL Teacher

Kings’ School Nad Al Sheba is looking to hire an exceptional, dedicated, and seasoned English as an Additional Language (EAL) Teacher to join our dynamic primary school starting August 2026.

The ideal candidate will engage with students aged 4–11 years, assisting learners at various levels of English language development to build the linguistic confidence and academic language necessary for navigating the British Curriculum.

This position entails working with individuals and small groups to enhance oral language skills, academic vocabulary, reading comprehension, and written expression, thereby enabling students to fully engage with both the curriculum and the broader school community. Additionally, the role may involve assisting pupils in their preparations for Cambridge English assessments and IELTS, when applicable.

The EAL Teacher is essential in aiding students who are learning English as an additional language to successfully engage with the curriculum and flourish both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities


The successful candidate will:

• Provide high-quality EAL support through focused small-group and individual instruction

• Assist pupils in acquiring the academic language necessary for accessing the British Curriculum

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to enhance learning and modify teaching strategies

• Track student progress and initiate interventions to expedite language development

• Contribute to the evolution of the school's Primary EAL program

• Foster a classroom environment characterized by high expectations, curiosity, and respect

• Cultivate strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will possess:

• A relevant university degree

• A recognized teaching qualification

• At least three years of teaching experience

• Experience in supporting EAL learners within a primary context

• A solid understanding of language acquisition and effective EAL methodologies

• The capacity to adapt to a fast-paced international school setting

• Excellent communication abilities and a talent for building positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues

• A reflective and innovative approach to teaching and learning
