Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and skilled French-Spanish Teacher to join our faculty in August 2026.

The ideal candidate will instruct upper primary and lower secondary students in French and teach Spanish to secondary students, delivering dynamic lessons that enhance students’ skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The teacher will prepare students for Key Stage 3 assessments while fostering a love for languages and appreciation for their respective cultures.

This role involves crafting engaging and interactive lessons, addressing individual student learning needs, incorporating technology into the curriculum, and participating in cultural and language events.

Key Responsibilities


Provide high-quality instruction in French (upper primary to lower secondary) and Spanish (secondary) that enhances students’ language skills.


Design engaging, student-centered lessons that foster communication abilities and intercultural awareness.


Regularly assess student progress, offering constructive feedback and supporting their language growth.


Utilize digital tools, language technologies, and online resources to enrich the learning experience.


Promote involvement in cultural events, language exchanges, and interdisciplinary activities.


Assist students with diverse learning needs and adapt instruction as necessary.


Collaborate with colleagues to exchange best practices and contribute to a dynamic language department.

Skills and Competencies


Native or near-native fluency in both French and Spanish.


In-depth knowledge of Key Stage 2–3 and lower secondary language curricula.


Familiarity with contemporary MFL teaching methods and assessment strategies.


Experience in incorporating technology and digital resources into language instruction.


Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and colleagues.


Ability to inspire and motivate students to attain language fluency and confidence.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in French, Spanish, Modern Languages, or a related field.

Recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed, or equivalent).

Experience teaching French and Spanish to primary and lower secondary students.

Preferred experience in organizing language-related cultural activities or events.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
