About This Role

- Utilize various inquiry methods (such as open, structured, and guided) to spark student interest and equip them with the skills necessary to construct their own understanding, fostering lifelong autonomy in learning.

- Deliver conceptual knowledge across and beyond subject boundaries, aiding learners in grasping complex ideas. Thoughtfully design questions, curiosities, and provocations to enhance conceptual comprehension while linking content, skills, and ideas.

- Create contextualized, real-world learning opportunities that help students relate new information to their personal experiences (local context) and the broader world (global context), fostering a sense of international awareness.

- Collaboratively and intentionally plan to facilitate interactive and cooperative learning experiences that encourage meaningful dialogue and feedback, using data-driven insights to adaptively meet the diverse needs of students.

- Work alongside colleagues to address student diversity, focusing on building self-esteem, recognizing prior knowledge, and scaffolding learning to provide all students with engaging, respectful, and challenging tasks.

- Organize and implement continuous assessment strategies with students and colleagues to monitor, document, measure, and report on learning outcomes. Leverage “Assessment as and for Learning” data to inform instructional modifications.

- Teach with a focus on developing approaches to learning skills by identifying the specific skills and dispositions targeted for instruction. Clearly demonstrate the strategies and techniques learners can use to process information while promoting skill transfer and self-regulation.

- Seamlessly integrate technology to enrich student learning experiences. Reflect on the rationale and methods for using technology, ensuring the maintenance of digital integrity.

- Foster and enhance students’ language development by activating existing knowledge, building background understanding, supporting language acquisition, and affirming their identities.

- Design learning experiences that empower students to internalize principles of sustainability and navigate complex systems, enabling them to take action or advocate for practices that restore and maintain ecosystem health, while promoting equity and envisioning a sustainable future.

- Engage actively in professional inquiry (including PLCs, action research, workshops, study groups, critical friends, data teams, etc.) aimed at continuously reflecting on practices and enhancing learning outcomes for all students.

- Reflect on personal beliefs regarding professional responsibilities to maintain integrity and transparency, foster connections within learning communities, and respect and promote organizational, local, and global cultures.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
