About This Role

Job Overview: Established in 2015, Anne Hill International offers international education for students aged 2-13 and is poised to expand its secondary school offerings in the near future. Our mission is to deliver affordable, high-quality education, while our vision focuses on fostering well-rounded, globally-minded, lifelong learners.

Currently, our school serves around 350 students hailing from 30 different countries, supported by a dedicated team of 30 teachers with diverse backgrounds.

The new secondary school campus is set to launch in August 2026, featuring a curriculum based on the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) and Cambridge Lower Secondary, leading to the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). Our institution is a proud member of the Council of International Schools (CIS).

Role Responsibilities

We are seeking a Teacher of Global Perspectives (Year 7 to Year 9) who possesses the professional skills to develop and enhance initiatives within an evolving program. While experience with IMYC and IGCSE is preferred, it is not mandatory.

The ability to teach a second social studies or another subject would be beneficial.

All educators are expected to engage in the pastoral/homeroom curriculum and participate in the after-school activities program.

Duties & Responsibilities

Subject Teachers hold responsibility for the academic advancement and pastoral care of their students in alignment with the school’s guiding principles, curriculum, and policies.

1. Set high expectations that inspire, motivate, and challenge students.

• Create a positive, safe, and stimulating classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement, supports risk-taking in learning, and builds confidence.

• Develop lessons with clear objectives that foster active participation, independence, collaboration, and cross-curricular connections.

• Maintain high expectations consistently through strong relationships and inclusive practices.

2. Foster ongoing progress and outcomes for all students.

• Understand students well enough to tailor learning experiences, utilizing curriculum sequencing and prior knowledge to facilitate progress.

• Encourage student reflection, responsibility, and a diligent approach to independent work and study.

3. Exhibit excellent subject and curriculum knowledge.

• Craft learning experiences that reinforce concepts, capture interest, and challenge students.

• Continually enhance professional skills through ongoing development, applying insights to classroom practices with a focus on literacy, numeracy, and the importance of scholarship.

4. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons.

• Design and present engaging, purposeful lessons that cater to varied student needs, with clear objectives, constructive feedback, and evidence-based strategies that enhance progress.

• Cultivate positive classroom dynamics and collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive, student-centered approach that promotes both learning and wellbeing.

5. Adjust teaching to cater to the strengths and needs of students.

• Work with students to establish clear, purposeful goals and modify lessons to meet individual requirements using diverse strategies such as differentiation, questioning, active learning, and technology.

• Utilize assessment, feedback, and reflection to inform teaching, support progress, and cultivate an inclusive environment where all students feel valued and challenged.

6. Utilize assessment effectively and productively.

• Systematically evaluate student learning through various methods, providing clear feedback that promotes improvement and advancement.

• Consistently leverage assessment data to guide instruction, planning, and ensure all students achieve their potential.

7. Ensure the quality of educational provision.

• Communicate effectively with parents, offering clear feedback and guidance.

• Prepare and utilize resources tailored to student needs and engage support staff in planning and instruction.

• Manage time efficiently and conduct academic reporting diligently through updates, reports, and parent meetings to accurately reflect student progress.

Qualifications and Experience

• A University/College degree, preferably related to the subject being taught.

• PGCE or equivalent qualifications.

• Three years of relevant experience (desirable but not essential).

• A proven history of supporting students from diverse cultural backgrounds and those with additional needs (e.g., English as an Additional Language and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
