About This Role
We are seeking a dedicated Vice Principal of Secondary to join our esteemed team at GEMS Education in Dubai, with a start date of August 2026. The Vice Principal (Secondary) will play a pivotal role in influencing the strategic direction, culture, and performance of the Secondary School. Collaborating closely with the Principal and the broader leadership team, the successful candidate will provide exceptional leadership in areas such as teaching and learning, student experiences, and staff development, ensuring the maintenance of high standards and achieving strong outcomes in line with the school’s vision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer strategic leadership and oversight of the Secondary School, ensuring alignment with the school’s vision, values, and overall priorities.
- Lead the initiatives in teaching and learning throughout the Secondary phase, promoting high standards in classroom practice, assessment, and student performance.
- Assist the Principal in implementing and continuously developing the IB continuum, ensuring adherence to IB standards and requirements.
- Manage and mentor Heads of Department and Middle Leaders, fostering a culture of accountability, professional growth, and excellence.
- Monitor student progress, achievement, and well-being, utilizing data to guide interventions and strategic decision-making.
- Play a significant role in staff recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning within the Secondary School.
- Oversee behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding, ensuring consistent enforcement of policies and maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Enhance parent and community engagement by serving as a key point of contact and representing the school with professionalism and integrity.
- Work closely with the Primary Leadership Team to ensure a smooth transition, continuity, and coherence across educational phases.
- Contribute to the school’s self-evaluation, accreditation, and inspection processes, including IB evaluations and local regulatory requirements.
- Assist in operational and timetable planning to guarantee the efficient functioning of the Secondary School.
- Serve as a visible, approachable leader who exemplifies the school’s values and fosters a positive, aspirational culture for both staff and students.
