About This Role

We are thrilled to announce an opportunity for a remarkable Teaching & Learning Coach to join our Senior Leadership Team. This crucial leadership role reports directly to the Principal and involves a broad responsibility across the school to advance excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment.

The ideal candidate will work in close partnership with senior and middle leaders, including the SENCO and phase leaders, to cultivate a culture focused on high achievement, innovation, and continuous improvement throughout the institution.

This position offers an exciting chance for a passionate and seasoned educator to shape teaching practices, support professional development, and ensure that students consistently reach high standards of achievement and progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the enhancement of teaching and learning across the school, prioritizing pedagogy, progress, and academic success
  • Foster outstanding performance in both internal and external assessments
  • Develop and execute a thorough professional development program for all teaching staff
  • Mentor and coach teachers to promote reflective practices and innovative teaching strategies
  • Conduct constructive lesson observations and participate in quality assurance processes
  • Evaluate and improve the quality of feedback and assessment practices throughout the school
  • Ensure that curriculum schemes, lesson plans, and assessment documentation meet GEMS standards
  • Assist in implementing school improvement priorities and contribute to strategic planning
  • Manage internal inspection processes, including audits, reports, and follow-up actions
  • Identify and share best practices within the school, promoting collaboration and continual improvement
  • Engage in staff recruitment, including leading micro-teach sessions
  • Work closely with the SLT to track progress on school objectives and provide regular updates

Academic & Pastoral Responsibilities

  • Build strong professional relationships with teachers, fostering a culture of openness and aspiration
  • Support staff in developing outstanding teaching and assessment practices
  • Lead training sessions on teaching and learning during professional development days
  • Champion inclusive and differentiated teaching that meets the needs of all learners
  • Participate in external networks, peer reviews, and ongoing professional development

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including duties, events, and extracurricular activities
  • Aid in maintaining inspection readiness, self-evaluation (SEF), and school development planning (SDP)

  • Respect local culture, customs, and laws, ensuring professionalism and confidentiality at all times
  • Perform additional tasks as reasonably assigned by the Principal

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (essential)
  • Recognized teaching qualification (essential)

Experience

  • Proven experience in a leadership role focused on teaching and learning
  • Demonstrated success in enhancing classroom practices and improving student outcomes
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, and providing professional development

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to inspire, challenge, and support staff at all levels
  • Proficient in using data and assessment to drive improvement
