The School
The British School Algiers, recognized as the first British international school in Algeria, commenced operations in November 2020 following a collaborative agreement between the Algerian and British governments. Now in our third operational year, we relocated to new facilities in September 2022 to accommodate the rising demand for student placements. In May 2022, we successfully completed our inaugural BSO inspection.
BSA serves students aged 4 to 18 and adheres to the English National Curriculum, adapted for an international context. We are dedicated to fostering outstanding teaching and learning within a nurturing environment. Our school community is warm and welcoming, making the British School Algiers a fulfilling place to work.
Candidates must possess a PGCE, BEd, or an equivalent qualification. Additionally, applicants should have experience teaching IGCSE, GCSE, and A Level courses either in the UK or at an accredited British international school.
The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate effectively, fostering strong relationships with all members of the school community, and should be eager to advance their teaching career in an international environment. The appointed individual must be prepared to contribute to the ongoing development of the ethos of our relatively new school. This role requires energetic and highly committed educators who can inspire and motivate students to achieve their fullest potential.
Algiers is a vibrant, welcoming, and cosmopolitan city on the Mediterranean, rich in history and conveniently located near the UK and Europe. The low cost of living, coupled with good infrastructure, shops, cafés, and restaurants, allows teachers to enjoy a comfortable lifestyle while exploring various parts of the country during their leisure time.
