About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented practitioner who is passionate about Mathematics and committed to helping every pupil achieve their full potential. Whether you are an Early Career Teacher or an experienced classroom practitioner, we are looking for someone who can inspire pupils, deliver high quality teaching and contribute positively to the continued development of Mathematics at King James Academy. We are happy to accept both full-time and part-time applicants.

This role would particularly suit a teacher who enjoys working collaboratively, has high expectations and wants to make a genuine contribution to the development of the department and the outcomes of its pupils.

• Deliver high-quality and engaging Mathematics lessons across the age and ability range.
• Inspire pupils to develop confidence, curiosity and enjoyment in Mathematics.
• Plan and deliver challenging and inclusive learning experiences that secure strong progress for all learners.
• Use assessment effectively to identify gaps in knowledge, monitor progress and inform teaching.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of a broad, ambitious and well-sequenced Mathematics curriculum.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and continually improve teaching and learning.
• Maintain high expectations for pupils' behaviour, engagement and achievement.
• Play an active role in the wider life of the Academy, including enrichment, super-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities.

• Be a passionate and effective teacher of Mathematics.
• Have strong subject knowledge and a commitment to securing excellent outcomes for pupils.
• Demonstrate high expectations of achievement, behaviour and participation.
• Be committed to inclusive education and meeting the needs of all learners.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

King James Academy Royston is a thriving and inclusive school with excellent facilities, extensive grounds and specialist teaching spaces. We have approximately 950 students on roll from years 5-11. Our school is split across two sites, the East Site and the West Site.
